John Wood
John is a member of the IFA (Institute of Financial Advisers), and is therefore bound by the ethics, practice and disciplinary standards contained in the IFA Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct and supporting Bylaws.

John’s Qualifications are:

  • Certified Financial Planner (CFP)
  • Diploma Business Studies – Financial Planning Endorsement (Massey) 1998
  • Bachelor of Arts (Canterbury) 1978
  • Diploma in Teaching (Canterbury) 1977

John commenced his career in the financial services industry in 1987 and formed John Wood & Associates Ltd six years later.

John has extensive financial industry experience and holds the international designation, of a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) along with a Diploma in Business Studies (Massey), Bachelor of Arts Degree (Canterbury) and a Diploma in Teaching.

John has shared his professional experience in many ways, both at a community and professional level. He has presented at a number of financial conferences throughout the country. John is presently the President of the AAA Advisers Association which represents the business interests of 300 advisers throughout New Zealand.

John and his wife Jo enjoy family life with their three children Nicholas, Bradley and Natalie. He is also active in a number of community activities and member of the local Lions club.

A keen sports person you’ll often find John in the outdoors enjoying the West Coast environment pursuing his love of running and mountain biking.
